I hardly know about internet and i am about to start a wireless connection. I want it for my house (not company etc). I have found one modem-router (Netgear DGN2000 Wireless Modem Router Annex A (270Mbps)) but will it have a strong signal that will cover the whole apartment without problems? Any help would be appreciated...or any other suggestions about modem routers etc...

yes it will(that is a good router) Look at the router box. See how far the modem could cover. since it is an apartment i don't see why the signal should be weak considering your computer is gonna be close to it right? and it should cover your whole apartment.
