How do you hook a lan cord to a wireless router and make a wireless connection?

Iv tried to hook it up but then the internet doesnt work and im doing this so i can hook up internet to another computer. Oh and i have a Linksy Wireless router. How do you hook a lan cord to a wireless router and make a wireless connection?
You may want to look at the manual or some websites for certain details.

It should go like this

[Internet]~(modem)~(wireless router)~(computer)

From there, you'll need to set up the router from the plugged in computer if the router isn't sending wireless. On internet explorer, put in the address 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 and log into your linksys router (default login password should be ';admin'; depending on your model). There should be a wizard that will do almost all the work for you. Now you can connect with wireless computers.

The basics. Good luck. How do you hook a lan cord to a wireless router and make a wireless connection?
more details than simply ';the internet doesnt work'; are needed to troubleshoot the problem. without any, i suggest you follow instructions provided with the wireless router.

do your other computers have compatible wireless cards?
In order to get wireless internet you need a couple of things.

1. A broadband or DSL Type modem (this is you internet Box)

2. A Wireless Router (AKA Your Linksys Router)

3. A computer with a wifi card(this will be either a usb, internal or PCMCIA card).

4. a rj45 wire to connect your broadband/DSL modem to your linksys router

(follow thins link to find out what a rj45 connection is)

If your are not trying to go wireless just plug another rj45 connection from the back of you router to the back of your computer.

once you have connected the rj45 connection between the dsl box and router you need to go on the computer with the wifi connection and have it find and connect to the wireless router.

For further info I recommend the link below, just but in the model number of your router

well I have a full blog on this and see if you have first setup your router correctly. I am not sure if any lan cord to a router can generate wireless connection. However trying doe not hurt.
