I'm trying to connect my internal dsl modem into a wrt54g router but don't know how to properly connect it. Also when I try to type 192.168.1.1 into the adress bar I get an error. I also have no default gateway. I tried contacting bell and linksys but both were useless. How to connect a router to a internal dsl modem?

With an internal modem, your PC is the router. Turn on Internet Connection Sharing so that the connection your modem represents is shared to the Ethernet port, then plug the WAN side of the router into the Ethernet port. Plug your other computers into the router's LAN side and use one of them to configure the router. You will have trouble networking with your other computers this way but they will be able to reach the Internet.

The better way to go: dump the internal DSL modem and get an external one to plug your router into. Letting the external devices deal with the link to your ISP will take some workload off the PC and add a layer of safety by shielding your network from the public Internet.
I have not heard of an internal DSL modem. If indeed you have one, that may be your problem. Being it is internal, it may not have any ports to connect to a router. Suggest you check the manual that came with it or google for the manual.

If you are a bit more descriptive, someone may be able to help you.
put the plugs in the modem and computer and u good
