How easy is it to connect to Broadband using your own wireless router?

Changing isp soon. Is it worth getting a wireless router of my own? Could a fuddy duddy cope with new isp, a new wireless router? What is a good router?

Pros and cons please. How easy is it to connect to Broadband using your own wireless router?
well the best routers are cisco routers and if you have the budget for that then you already have the administrator to run it ( hint very expensive) but the most popular and budget minded owners use link sys followed by d-link and netgear less popular as they are more tweaky oriented and not as secure and stable like linksys...routers are cheap to get usually new sell for 50 dollars CND ( convert to your currency)

look for N routers as they are the best for networks ( b/g are the cheaper ones to get ) makesure you get the wireless card for you computer either pci or usb dongle that allows your wireless to work in leiu of cat 5 cable (ethernet) as these are irrelivant to your ISP equiptment you can switch from cable high speed to dsl to OC3 or almost anything inbetween except dialup 56 KHow easy is it to connect to Broadband using your own wireless router?
Check with whom your going to. Some supply their own wireless modems and don't like other equipment other than their own connected to their systems.

Virgin (I know) and BT (I'm certain) gear will only work on their systems due to the code installed in the internal circuits.
