How do you connect an iPod Touch to a Linksys router if there isn't a modem but still internet?

I'm not sure what my internet source is but when I finally connected my Touch to the router I couldn't get the router connected to the internet. Does this mean I already have wireless internet or do I need a network adapter? How do you connect an iPod Touch to a Linksys router if there isn't a modem but still internet?
You need to first check your hardware. The wireless router routes wireless to ethernet. You need to see if the router is connected to the internet (has internal modem), or is connected to an external cable or DSL modem. If there is no internet connection to the router itself physically, you should reconnect the modem to it, or contact your internet service provider.

Once the modem and router are connected, you need to make sure that its DHCP and NAT settings are enabled on the LAN (local) side of the router, the correct network settings for your ISP on the WAN (Internet) side of the router such as DHCP, IP Address, DNS, Gateway, etc are set correctly. Then, set your SSID (wireless network name) and WEP/WPA key (security) on the router.

Once you have done this, go to your iPod Touch's wireless settings, select or enter the SSID of your router, enter your security key and you should be connected. How do you connect an iPod Touch to a Linksys router if there isn't a modem but still internet?
