How to check if a wireless router is in good working condition ?

I want to buy a wireless router. Its available at my local computer hardware shop. Its condition is used. How should i check to assure it works fine and hope that it will work fine. I can check whether my laptop can connect to it but what further things do i have to check ?How to check if a wireless router is in good working condition ?
Ask them to connect it at the shop. If they're unwilling to, connect it at home and ensure a return-policy on unfunctioning goods.



Simply ask them to connect it, remove all network security protocols, and connect to it with your laptop!
